Course Description
Typography II is an in-depth examination of the principles of typography with emphasis on typographic composition, type on the computer, and practical typography. Students will explore type as an independent design element, in addition to working with hierarchy, contrast, scale, rhythm, spatial relationships, and grid systems.
Students will explore the creative, aesthetic, and informational potential of type through exercises and complex projects, including single and multi-page layouts. They will become aware of contemporary typography and discover the role that type plays in shaping the form and content of communication.

- Presentation materials to present final projects such as a color printer, laser paper, x-acto knife, etc.
